If you don’t have a Facebook business page setup already you won’t be able to complete the step below or take full advantage of using instagram business account.

I advise you create one right away have created a guide on a tutorial to help you create one

Do you already have a business Facebook page? Then let’s jump right in. Here is how to set up an Instagram business account.

NOTE: Unlike other social networks, posting on Instagram can only be done using the mobile app.

Ready let's Get Started!

1. Download the app

If you’ve never used Instagram, start by downloading the app. Instagram is available for smartphones, tablets, and computers through the Apple iOS, Google Play, and Windows app stores.

The app is geared toward mobile devices, and you’ll probably use a smartphone or tablet for most of your posting activity.

You can visit the Instagram website or use the app on a desktop computer if those options work better for you. However, some mobile features are not available or require special plug-ins to work for desktops and regular web browsers.

So, for the purposes of this guide, let’s focus on using the mobile app.

2. Create an account

Launch the app, and create an account in one of two ways:
l  Option 1: Sign up with your email address or phone number, and then enter a username.
l  Option 2: If you have a Facebook account, you can log in with the same information and link the accounts.
Already have an account? Just sign in, and go straight to your profile page.

3. Connect Your Facebook Page to Instagram

In order to switch to a business profile, start by logging into your Instagram account and navigating to your profile. Next, tap the “gear” icon in the top corner of the screen to access your account settings.

If you see Switch to Business Profile, you have access to the new Instagram business profiles.

4. Set Up Your Instagram Business Profile

Tap on the Switch to Business Profile option, and then the View Features link to learn about the features that come with switching to a business profile.

From here, you can flip through screens that tell you how you’ll be able to use your business profile to:

l  Connect to your Facebook Page
l  Add a phone number, email, or location so customers can reach you directly from a button on your profile
l  Learn about your followers and see how your posts are performing.
l  Create promotions on Instagram that help you grow your business.

Next, you’ll be prompted to add your contact information, including a phone number, physical address, or email so that customers can get in touch.

Once everything looks good, tap “Done.”

That’s it! Now that you have a business profile on Instagram, you’ll get access to a ton of new features, including the ability to view your instagram insights and promote your Instagram posts, all from within the app.

5. Start posting

Get to it! As we mentioned earlier, it’s a best practice to have a photo or two posted to your account before you start following people.

There isn’t much incentive for people to follow an account with no content.

6. Write captions and use hashtags

Keep your caption brief and use hashtags. Hashtags are often used in a joking way, but they are also how millions of photos are found, and in turn, your account can be found. You can also check out Top Hastags to see what’s popular on Instagram.

The most popular hashtags (like #love, #happy, #tbt) range in the hundreds of millions of times used, so if you’re targeting a particular niche, consider using a more specific hashtag.

7. Follow People and Engage

You’ve got a complete profile, a couple posts shared, and now it’s time to start following people so they start following you.

From your profile page (bottom right icon), go to the options page (gear in the upper right corner).

From here, there are two options near the top, under Follow People:

l  Facebook Friends
l  Contacts

Tap either of these and Instagram will connect to Facebook and your address book. If you’ve got past clients and connections stored on your phone, you’ll be able to see their accounts.

Instagram will show you all of your friends on Instagram that are in your contacts list or logged in using Facebook. Start following other accounts and commenting and engaging with them.

This is how you get people to start following you back.
As you post more to the network and follow more people, you can check your notifications page (heart icon) to see who has liked your photos, started following you, left a comment, or mentioned you in a post.

8.Find and Define Your Brand’s Story

Once you’re set up and ready to go, it’s important to decide what your Instagram business account’s purpose should be and keep it on message.

A real estate agent might use Instagram to establish and expand their positive public perception through photos and engaging with followers.

That means posting photos of houses they are listing and favorite neighborhood spots to check out — not selfies in the gym or pictures of their doctor’s office while they get a flu shot.

Once you’ve got your account established, be sure the Instagram icon is on your website (best practice would be in your contact/about me section) and in your email signature.

You can also include your handle on your LinkedIn page or any other site that drives visitors to contact you.

Instagram is a colorful, visual and expressive social network. Have fun using your Instagram business account to connect to your network and enrich your relationships.

9.Build Your Social Media Strategy

Instagram should be a fun experience, not something to stress about. Engaging with friends and clients there is a helpful step toward building your brand.

However, an Instagram business account doesn’t take care of your social media strategy. Once you know how to use Instagram for business, you can create Stories to drive engagement.

Instagram stories are short photo or video collections that disappear after 24 hours. This simple feature is an effective way to share a funny, educational or heartwarming moment with your followers.

Even better, you have unlimited ways to be creative with storytelling. Show a product coming to life in your “food lab.” Offer a 10-second tutorial on cleaning the gutters. Make your audience laugh with funny filters on staff photos.

Instagram may seem intimidating at first, but the short, visual posts make it easy to learn fast and connect frequently with little effort.

Hope you find this post helpful, If you have any question concerning this post drop them in the comment section see you in the next post. Good Luck!!!!!!
